| Our father Joseph Isaac Asscher (1931-2003) followed
in our grandfathers steps by joining the family
business in the 1950s as a apprentice cleaver
and diamond marker or designer, in the mid 60s
he had the honour of cleaving the Trisakti diamond
property of the Indonesian Government, this set
him on the road to cleave many large diamonds over
100 cts and was internationally recognised as a
Master Cleaver ,With the rapid decline of Amsterdam
as a diamond cutting centre, he left the Asscher
company in Amsterdam in the late 60s and moved
to Antwerp Belgium and later to South Africa. |
